 Do you want to advance your English skills? Do it by actively discussing a diverse range of topics!

Lesson contents
This conversation course will focus on practising the four skills of speaking, reading, listening & writing, with diverse topics coming from a variety of sources. Grammar topics will be addressed as they arise. Participants will be encouraged to talk about their own views & areas of interest.

Who is this course for?
This course is appropriate for students who have completed the entire B1 competency level.

Lesson aims
By the end of this course students will have practised and improved formulating and expressing their opinions in the discussion everyday topics, developed their debating skills and improved speech fluency to sound more natural.

Methods
A variety of methods assist students in gaining more confidence, such as roleplays, debates in group and whole class settings, analysis of texts and images (e.g. using gallery walks) and analysis and discussion of other media (e.g. podcasts, news reports).

Course material will be provided by the instructor; the cost of materials for copies is 3.00 EUR.

About the course instructor:


I have a very multicultural background - I was born in South Africa, moved to Australia at age 9 and for the last 14 years have considered myself a Wahlberliner. I am fascinated by my fellow humans & society and am enthusiastic about reading and languages. I studied History, Politics and German Studies at university in Sydney and Berlin and I am a certified English teacher (CELTA).

Method: I believe that learning is most successful in an atmosphere characterised by curiosity, encouragement and having fun. To further support effective learning I integrate topics that are interesting, relatable and useful for the learner into my language lessons - examples are history & politics, the workplace, sociology and psychology, among others. I look forward to helping you improve your English!
