Watching TV is a great way to improve your language skills, but it isn?t always easy to do it alone. In this course, you can make progress as a member of a film club. Each week we will discuss an episode from the first season of the crime drama TV series based on the Coen Brothers? 1996 film of the same title, Fargo. Each episode begins with the lie, ?this is a true story.? Topics for discussion will include cinematography and genre, plot and comedy, violence and history. We will compare reviews from movie critics and discuss podcasts that explore topical influences. Each week, participants will have the chance to work in pairs and small groups. This course is ideal for anyone who wants to improve their conversational English without a textbook.
Materials will be provided by the course instructor.
Ihre Kursleiterin: Dr. Zoë Ammendolia unterrichtet Englisch von A1 bis C2. Ihr Unterricht orientiert sich an immersiven und inklusiven Ansätzen der Sprachvermittlung. Zusätzlich nutzt sie alternative Lernmethoden wie "Leichte Sprache". Zoë Ammendolia hat in Recht und Literatur promoviert, daher unterrichtet sie auch gerne akademische Fachsprache. Vor fünf Jahren zog sie nach Berlin. Zuvor hat sie in Schottland und England gelebt.
