Beschreibung:

Rome, Kyoto, Paris, IPCC, Fridays for future: All these buzzwords have been with us for years. But what is climate research really about? How did and will our climate change?

Learn: What is the difference between weather and climate?
What is climate data, and how is it collected?
How does a climate model work? How do we use them? Where are the uncertainties? What are the differences between weather forecasting, seasonal forecasting, decadal forecasting and long-term climate projections?
Discuss, are we passing a tipping point?

Dr Bijan Fallah works at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK). He works as a climate modeller. He is working on a project that looks at the impact of climate change and its consequences concerning land use, hydrological systems, human well-being, and urban spaces.
