 Want to learn Greek at the Volkshochschule, but your German is “nicht so gut“? This course is perfect for you! The class will be taught in English, although we?ll gradually speak more and more Greek as we progress. We?ll start with the basics: introducing
ourselves, exchanging personal information, and overcoming our fear of the uncanny Greek alphabet that feels both familiar and strange. We focus on speaking, not thinking! Join us and discover the beauty of modern Greek.

About me:
Ilias Konstantinou studied architecture at the University of Thessaly in Volos, Greece, but his true passion lies in languages and applied linguistics. A polyglot himself, he is certified by the Centre for the Greek Language in Thessaloniki, Greece, to teach Greek as a foreign language. Since 2015, he has been living in Berlin, working as a freelance language teacher, translator, and author.

 Technical requirements

The course will be conducted online via the digital learning platform of the German adult education centres vhs.cloud and the video conferencing system Zoom.

You will need

  • a computer/laptop with internet access
  • free access to the digital learning platform vhs.cloud
  • an up-to-date version of the Internet browsers Chrome or Firefox
  • a way to output sound via loudspeaker or headset. We recommend a headset.

The use of a webcam is also recommended.

Here you can test your technical requirements in advance. The test starts after clicking on "Start exam".

  1. Please register for the course at the VHS as usual. More information can be found here.

  2. After successful registration, you will receive a confirmation of your registration. On your registration sheet you will find the access code for your online course in the vhs.cloud.
