This easily accessible inner city park is popular with both locals and tourists, especially joggers. There are large open meadows, densely wooded areas, a formal Rose Garden and many interesting monuments. The only water in the park is an outdoor swimming pool which is not part of the walk. It is quite a steep climb to the remains of the World War 2 anti-aircraft fortifications. Once there the view over the tops of the trees, where many birds spend their time, makes it worthwhile.
Robert Crouch was born in Malaysia and grew up in England. After 20 years working as a sailor and boat builder, he moved to Berlin to teach English. Robert is a qualified TELC examiner for English, levels A1 to C2. He is also a talented musician and has been performing semi-professionally for nearly 40 years.
