 This seminar offers a dynamic and engaging way to develop your English skills through a rich variety of media?including articles, literary and non-fiction texts, videos, artworks, games, and interactive discussions.

Together, we?ll explore a broad spectrum of fascinating topics, so you're not only practicing English but constantly learning something new. In a relaxed and supportive environment, led by a native English speaker and Cultural Historian, you'll participate in enjoyable, hands-on activities designed to improve every aspect of your language use.

You will:
•Strengthen your fluency and confidence in speaking
•Sharpen your pronunciation and grammar
•Expand your vocabulary
•Learn to use idiomatic, expressive language that brings greater nuance, clarity, and personality to your communication

Who is the course instructor?

I?m a native English speaker with over 25 years of teaching experience. I was trained at the renowned Knight Institute at Cornell University (New York), where I went on to earn a PhD in Art and Cultural History. My teaching philosophy is simple: language learning is most effective when the material is genuinely engaging?something you'd want to read even in your native language.
That?s why I design my courses around a wide range of thought-provoking topics, from art and politics to science and technology. Classes are held online in a relaxed, supportive environment.
We focus on building vocabulary, improving speaking skills, and strengthening grammar?all while exploring relevant and interesting content.
I look forward to helping you boost your English skills and discover new perspectives along the way!

 Technische Voraussetzungen

Der Kurs wird online über die digitale Lernplattform der deutschen Volkshochschulen vhs.cloud sowie das Videokonferentsystem zoom durchgeführt.

Sie benötigen

  • einen Computer/Laptop mit Internetzugang
  • einen kostenlosen Zugang zur digitalen Lernplattform vhs.cloud
  • eine aktuelle Version der Internetbrowser Chrome oder Firefox
  • eine Möglichkeit der Tonausgabe über Lautsprecher oder Headset. Wir empfehlen ein Headset.

Die Nutzung einer Webcam wird ebenfalls empfohlen.

Hier können Sie vorab Ihre technischen Voraussetzungen testen. Der Test beginnt nach Klick auf "Starte Prüfung".

Anmeldung

  1. Bitte melden Sie sich wie gewohnt zum Kurs an der VHS an. Nähere Informationen dazu finden Sie hier.
