Discover the irresistible Indo-Chinese cuisine born on India's streets - a fiery, saucy blend of Indian spices and Chinese techniques. Invented in Kolkata, India, by Hakka Chinese immigrants who blended their native cooking styles and started adapting their dishes to local tastes and ingredients. This fusion, which began in the late 1700s and grew as the Chinese community in Kolkata expanded, resulted in a new culinary style that became extremely popular throughout India.
In this hands-on class, we'll stir-fry, toss, and taste our way through recipes that capture the bold energy of this global fusion. Together we will prepare a menu based on these popular dishes:
Hakka Noodles (Stir-Fried Noodles with Vegetables & Soy-Garlic Sauce), Chilli Chicken (Spicy Indo-Chinese Chicken Stir-Fry), and Crispy Chilli Corn (Sweet Corn Fritters in Chinese Spices).
At the end of the cooking session we will enjoy our self-prepared delicious menu.
The course is held in English.
❕ The costs for the ingredients used (15.00 Euro) are included in the course fee. These will not be refunded in case of a short-term cancellation (from the 5th day before the course starts).
